Where are you going in life?

Posted on Jul 17th, 2008 by Ramon : Personal creator Ramon
Hello Gaia community: yesterday I got a message from a friend that made me stop for a minute and think about what I'm doing right now, and where I'm going. It's a wonderful story and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Here it goes for you guys to read:

A boat docked in a tiny village. A tourist complimented the fisherman on the quality of his fish and asked how long it took him to catch them.

"Not very long," answered the fisherman.

"But then, why didn't you stay out longer and catch more?" asked the tourist.

The fisherman explained that his small catch was sufficient to meet his needs and those of his family.

The tourist asked, "But what do you do with the rest of your time?"

"I sleep late, fish a little, play with my children, and take a siesta with my wife. In the evenings, I go into the village to see my friends, play guitar, sing a few songs... I have a full life."

The tourist interrupted, "I have an MBA from IIM-A, and I can help you! You should start by fishing longer every day. You can then sell the extra fish you catch. With the extra revenue, you can buy a bigger boat."

"And after that?" asked the fisherman .

"With the extra money the larger boat will bring, you can buy a second one and a third one and so on until you have an entire fleet of trawlers. Instead of selling your fish to a middle man, you can then negotiate directly with the processing plants and maybe even open your own plant. You can then leave this little village and move to  any place . From there you can direct your huge new enterprise."

"How long would that take?" asked the fisherman.

"Twenty, perhaps twenty-five years," replied the tourist.

"And after that?"

"Afterwards? Well my Friend, That's when it gets really interesting," chuckled the tourist, "When your business gets really big, you can start selling stocks and make millions!"

"Millions? Really? And after that?" asked the  fisherman.

"After that you'll be able to retire, live in a tiny village near the coast, sleep late, play with your children, catch a few fish, take a siesta with your wife and spend your evenings doing what you like with your buddies."

"With all due respect sir, but that's exactly what I am doing now. So what's the point wasting 25 years?" asked the fisherman.

And the moral of the story is? Know where you're going in life. You may already be there.

Life in the present world is indeed a rat race. Many who have good qualifications too do not know where they are going in life.

Namaste,

Ramon

Who You Are and Why You are Here?

Posted on Jul 9th, 2008 by Ramon : Personal creator Ramon
I'm currently subscribed to Neale Donald Walsch's daily letter, in which he sends messages that I consider to be "gifts" more than just words. Today's message is:

"On this day of your life, Ramon, I believe God wants you to know...

that without knowing who you are and why you are here, life has no meaning.

Seek, then, to study the questions. Work to experience

the grandest answers. Who You Are is an Individuation

of Divinity. Why you are here is to demonstrate that."

So I ask you all, try to answer the questions and find out for yourselves!

What was the last major transformation you went through?

Posted on Jun 23rd, 2008 by Ramon : Personal creator Ramon
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for June 23, 2008:

It happened like 4 years ago, when I read "The Eternal Validity of the Soul" by Jane Roberts and Seth. It turned my world upside down and made me realize that everything I believed in was not even close to the truth. It made me more conscious of everything and everyone; I started being less selfish and more tolerant. It made me realize that all my actions from the day I was born to that day were not aimed at evolving mentally, spiritually and physically, and that I had to change my way of living from that moment on.

Need your feedback on the renewed "Our Father" Prayer

Posted on Jun 13th, 2008 by Ramon : Personal creator Ramon
Trini-fr
Hello Gaia Community: today I woke up with the need to send this message. I was raised as a Christian-Catholic, nevertheless my experience in this maya/reality has made me impartial to support one sole religion, and taking the best out of each one in this current existence.
Yesterday I was at church celebrating the first anniversary of my mother's passing away. When we started reciting the "Our Father" prayer, it came to mind that we could make it a better and more accurate prayer. The original prayer is as follows:

Our Father, Who art in heaven,

hallowed be Thy Name;

Thy kingdom come;

Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread,

and forgive us our trespasses

as we forgive those who trespass against us;

and lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil.

Amen

A few ideas came to mind, and I restructured it the following way:

Our Father, Who art omnipresent

hallowed be Thy Name;

Thy Kingdom is in us

Thy will be done everywhere

Give us everyday our bread of life for our body and spirit/soul/oversoul/?

Liberate our heart from resentments

Show us the way into the truth

And deliver us from ignorance

Amen

I would very much appreciate any feedback on this.
Thanks for your support.
Namaste,

Ramon

"Mind Travellers" Book

Posted on Jun 10th, 2008 by Ramon : Personal creator Ramon
Hello Gaia Community: a couple of days ago I started reading the book "Mind Travellers" by W.S. Ranasinghe. I've read about 6 chapters and each one gets better. I got to a part that has left me thinking what I'm doing with all that I know and have read.
It's a part that says to practice what you preach. In fact, I have so many beliefs and thoughts that I haven't been able to put them to practice, nevertheless I believe in them 100%.
So the conclusion here is that I recommend you to practice, whatever beliefs you have, before preaching them, regardless of what you do.

I Am the Kingdom of God

Posted on Jun 2nd, 2008 by Ramon : Personal creator Ramon
Hello Gaia Community: yesterday I picked up a book that I've been reading for quite a while. It's called "A Course in Miracles". I read between 2-3 pages per day; it's a really tough book to "digest", sometimes I even read a page twice or thrice to get the message sink through my head.
I came to this part where the author is quoting that in the Bible when they mention "The Kingdom of Heaven is within you", we got the message wrong. The "within" word should be omitted. The Kingdom of Heaven is You!
Everyday when you wake up, say the following:

I Am the Kingdom of God, Amen.

For you are!
Cheers,
Ramon

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for May 20, 2008:

I'm learning to:
- Be a father :)
- Be a teacher
- Be a student
- Be tolerant with people that think different from how I think

And most important: how to be a spirit/entity/soul/etc. living in a human flesh and blood body!

Wesak Festival

Posted on May 19th, 2008 by Ramon : Personal creator Ramon
Hello Gaia Community: I just came back from this year's Wesak (Vesak) Festival and had a wonderful and refreshing meditation. The Wesak Festival occurs when there's a full moon around Taurus and the stars align in such a way that Buddha and Jesus send illumination directly to the planet and we can redirect this illumination and happiness to our fellow men and women. It also celebrates the day that Buddha was born, found illumination and then disincarnated from this reality/maya.
So the first thing that I wanted to do after I came home was to send you all divine bliss, loving kindness and blessings for you and your family and friends.
"Let light descend on Earth, let Christ return to Earth, may Light, Love and Power restore God's Plan on Earth"
You can find more information regarding Wesak in Wikipedia or Google.
Blessings to you all!

Who, or what, are you serving?

Posted on May 19th, 2008 by Ramon : Personal creator Ramon
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for May 19, 2008:

In my humble opinion, the answer should be pretty straight forward. Just think about it... Hmmm... trick question?
I would say that I serve everyone else and myself, which at the same time (since we are all one) serving everybody would be serving myself which would be serving God.
There is nothing in this world that you wouldn't be serving that would not be serving God indirectly or directly.
So, in conclusion: serve others what you want for yourself.

Are you Happy?

Posted on May 16th, 2008 by Ramon : Personal creator Ramon

Hello Gaia Community: today I was talking with a friend of mine and out of nowhere we started asking ourselves if we were happy.

Believe it or not, my mind got boggled and I couldn't give a concrete and concise answer to this simple question.

After all this confusion and mind-debating at least I got to the conclusion that happiness is in the eye of the beholder.

For me right now, happiness is my daughter, my wife and of course my dearest friend God.

What's happiness for you?
